Jaffs Needs some GUNZ

I was just wondering...how might we get him some on his ship...or a mod ship. I know there is a mega freighter mod out there with a crap load of weapons on it....perhaps you could turn the mod on and have the custom jafs set to comsec? I dont know....

Basicly does anyone know how we can make jaffs a bit more........protected?

Heh i dont know its kinda a dumb thought and most of you are probably scraching your head at the first little paragraph...still if you know of any cool little things let mesa know...

I think most of Jafs behaviour is hardcoded and not scripted.

He's programmed not to even show when there are enemies around and runs like heck at the first sign of trouble. so, there wouldn't be much point in giving him weapons?

I dunno though, if anyone has tried to put an AI turret on one of the freighter mods for him. It might work... if you could get him close enough to an enemy in the first place!

Well i was thinking for more of the times when you call him in and more enemys come after he has started loading up...i hate it when he ejects everything after taking a few hits...cuz every enemy ususally goes after him or atleast take pot shots at him as they chase after me...

Most of the time i assign an escort to him (like some corvettes with iFleet, or just turret fighters before i started using iFleet)

Anyway its just a crazy idea that would kick ass if it could work...

Actually Jaf's behaviour is entirely scripted. You could also give Jafs some turrets by modding his ship, and they'd probably automatically engage enemies.

But still, eventhough you could give him weapons, he probably would still leave if enemies came and he wouldn't come when there are enemies. As Stephen pointed out, it's entirely scripted, so if you wanted his behavior changed, you could replace the jafs code. Note that you'd have to replace it entirely, not a job most people are up to.:D

If we ever get the geography sdk, I might finally get to work on my total conversion. The jafs code might end up replaced, and I believe in open source, so you'd be welcome to use it if that day ever comes. Unfortunately, I need the geography sdk for my ideas so that I can 'start small'.
